The Shamrocks (6-1, 1-0) defeated Nazareth Academy 54-33 on Friday to record their first conference win of the season. Senior Chris Lara led the team’s scoring with 14 points. Sophomore Dominic Galati added 11 and juniors Jakob Medina and Austin Freeman contributed 9 and 8 points respectively.
“Balanced scoring was key to the game, along with our pressure defense,” said Head Coach Mike Bailey. “The team just needs to stay the course and keep grinding.
“Our margin for error is so small with some of the landmines coming up on our schedule,” Bailey added. “It’s not about any one player but about all of us.”
All three levels of Shamrock basketball play at St. Francis (Wheaton) tonight starting at 5 pm. The Shamrocks return home on Friday for a conference matchup vs. Marian Central Catholic with varsity tip-off at 7 pm.
