Below are results for Shamrock Athletics this past weekend.

Basketball

Shamrocks played well, despite being without senior starter Nick Cioffi, against two ranked teams this weekend but drop to 12-5 (2-1) on the season with losses to #17 Marian Catholic (74-64) on Friday at home and in OT to #20 Fenwick (72-66) on Saturday at DePaul Prep as part of the 2nd Annual Steve Pappas Shootout.

Junior Nicholas Galati scored 26 points in the game vs. Fenwick including a three-pointer with seconds left in regulation to send it to OT. Sophomore Timaris Brown had 18 points and 8 rebounds.

Shamrocks will host Saint Viator at home this Friday. Tip off is 7 pm.

Bowling

Varsity and JV won on Saturday to become Chicago Catholic League Champions for the second consecutive year. Head Coach David Habetler was named Coach of the Year in his first season at the helm. In addition, Varsity All-Conference selections were: Joshua Baumstark ‘20, Nate Emperado ‘20, Bobby Habetler ‘22 and Jack Schnoebelen ‘22. Habetler earned High Individual Honors Varsity (1st Place) and High Individual Honors Jr Varsity went to Mike Miles ‘22 (1st Place) and Cam Lajun ‘22 (2nd Place).

Varsity will begin Regional competition next Saturday, January 18th at Habetler Bowl at 9 am. 

Hockey

On Saturday, Shamrocks defeated Fox Valley 8-1. Sophomore Billy Pattison had three goals, senior captain Joe Simz had two, senior Charlie Evans had one and freshmen Steven Cook scored his first goal as a Shamrock.

On Sunday, Shamrocks completed the weekend sweep with a 5-2 win over the Pleasant Prairie Lakers on Senior Night. Both senior captains, Evans and Simz, scored goals. Junior Jacob Janata scored two and sophomore Max Leavy added one.

Shamrocks will play on Sunday, January 26 vs D122 Red 2 at American Heartland Ice Arena at 4:30 pm.

Swimming

Shamrocks competed in one of the toughest meets in the state finishing 17th out of 18 teams against many state-qualifying swimmers at the Evanston Invitational.

Varsity will host Saint Ignatius Wednesday at home at 5 pm.

Wrestling

St. Pat’s Wrestling had another great showing at the Lincoln-Way Central Mega Duals with three wrestlers going undefeated: Sean Conway ’22 (113 lbs), Del Walker ’20 (132 lbs) and Jimmy Clancy ’21 (195 lbs).

Shamrocks will wrestle Notre Dame on Friday.
