After an excellent performance in the Super-Sectional Tuesday night, Saint Patrick Soccer is on their way to the IHSA Class 3A State Semifinal for the second time in three years. The Shamrocks punched their ticket with an impressive 5-3 win against #2 ranked Fremd, led by Sebastian Estrada ‘21, who scored a pair of goals in the game. A team effort, Joshua Torres ‘21, Jaden Buelvas ‘21 and Aaron Moreno ‘20 also scored a goal each.
The Shamrocks have looked strong on the road to the State Tournament, securing a Regional title with a 3-2 win over Maine South and a 2-1 Sectional Final win over 7th ranked Evanston. The Shamrocks will take on Morton on Friday at 7:00 pm at Hoffman Estates High School, a rematch from the PepsiCo Showdown Finals, where St. Pat’s lost in a penalty shoot-out.
The winner of Friday’s game will play the winner of Edwardsville vs. West Chicago in the State Championship at 7:00 pm on Saturday at Hoffman Estates High School, preceded by the third-place game at 5:00 pm. Follow @StPatrickHS on Twitter for in-game updates.
