The Saint Patrick wrestling team competed in the IHSA Class 2A Regional Tournament at Fenwick High School over the weekend. Seven individuals out of 10 qualified for Sectionals and the team finished 4th overall.
Junior Brad Ritter (113 lbs) and senior Thomas Godsel (145 lbs) took 1st place in their brackets, both winning the first Regional Championship of their career. Sophomore Charlie Roy (106 lbs) finished 3rd while sophomore Del Walker (126 lbs) took 2nd. Juniors Ed Barzowski (132 lbs) and Lucas Kamberis (138 lbs) took 3rd and freshman Jimmy Clancy (170 lbs) finished 2nd.
The IHSA Sectional Tournament will be held this Friday and Saturday at Grayslake Central High School. The top four place finishers in each weight class at Sectionals will advance to the IHSA State Tournament at University of Illinois.
