Saint Patrick High School will once again be participating in Chicago’s Downtown Saint Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 11, and the Northwest Side Irish Parade, on Sunday, March 12.
It will be a special year at the Northwest Side Irish Parade, as St. Pat’s President Dr. Joe Schmidt has been chosen as the Grand Marshal. All Shamrock alumni and supporters are encouraged to help celebrate Dr. Joe’s 50 years or service to Saint Patrick by joining us at this parade.
Those interested in attending the Downtown Parade should meet the Shamrock’s marching unit at the corner of Balbo and Columbus at 11 a.m. prior to the start of the parade at noon. The schools staging/set-up area is on the East side of Columbus Drive near the corner of Columbus and Balbo.
Those who would like to attend the Northwest Side Irish Parade should meet at the corner of Raven and Natoma next to Onahan School, 6633 W. Raven, at 11 a.m. on March 12, again, prior to the start of the parade at noon. After the conclusion of the parade all alumni and friends are invited to join us at Immaculate Conception School on 7263 W Talcott Ave, for the parades after party ceremony where Dr. Schmidt is to be given his award for being this year’s Grand Marshall. There will be a floating trolley for those who’d like to attend the after party leaving the parade and traveling to Immaculate Conception all day. The trolley will pick you up behind the Norwood Park train station on Avondale Avenue and drop you off at the school.
Let’s come together on this special weekend as a St. Patrick family and show our Shamrock Pride as we walk with Dr. Joe!
