The Shamrocks freshman baseball team has completed the most successful conference season in the history of the program.
Saint Patrick won its last two game against Marian Central to conclude its East Suburban Catholic Conference schedule with a record of 14-4. The team finished with an all-time high winning percentage of .777.
“This group is very talented and we should have a very competitive team over the next few years,” coach John Nigro said.
The second-winningest freshman baseball season at St. Pat’s occurred in 2003, when the team went 14-6 with a .700 winning percentage. That group of players went on to play in the state finals.
