Saint Patrick High School is pleased to announce the following 14 Shamrocks have been named Students of the Month for October 2021.
Name: Mark Arnold
Year: Junior
Grade School: St. Thecla
Reason for Nomination: Mark is a well-liked student and a leader among the junior class. He’s a member of the varsity golf and baseball teams.
Name: Brendan Bednarek/Edmund O’Rourke
Year: Juniors
Grade School: St. Juliana/St. Mary of the Woods
Reason for Nomination: Edmund and Brendan have been outstanding mentors and examples to our freshman students. Their performance far exceeded expectations for lifeguards during freshman Physical Education class. Every day during swimming Ed and Brendan took responsibility for instructing either the advanced or beginning swimming group. Their work ethic, commitment and dedication to teaching swimming were contagious. They served as exemplary role models by consistently treating their fellow students fairly and with respect, often encouraging others to do the same.
Name: Patrick Briskey
Year: Junior
Grade School: St. Celestine
Reason for Nomination: There is no question that Patrick is a leader in the junior class. He is always trying to get better and continues to strive to be the best he can be. He is a wonderful representation of Saint Patrick High School because he cares about his school. His positive presence in the hallways makes anyone walking the building feel like family, especially our shadows.

Year: Junior
Grade School: St. Luke
Reason for Nomination: James Clay is a student who represents everything we want to see in a Shamrock. He is a hard working student who is always locked in during class, is accountable, and takes pride in his work. James contributes every day during class, and gives effort even on difficult days.
Name: Oracio Vega
Year: Junior
Grade School: River Grove
Reason for Nomination: Oracio is an outstanding student in the classroom. He works hard and is always pushing himself. When he experiences challenges he rebounds by working to investigate his ideas from a different standpoint. Additionally, Oracio has worked to engage future Shamrocks when we host them in the art room.
Name: Patrick Wright
Year: Junior
Grade School: Immaculate Conception
Reason for Nomination: Patrick has many of the characteristics that make a great student. Not only does he turn in assignments on time, he is inquisitive, participates well in class discussions, and asks deep questions. He is a good public speaker and both his presentations and written essays are thorough, clear, and thoughtful. I enjoy having him in class.
Name: Bryant Alvarez
Year: Senior
Grade School: Our Lady of Grace
Reason for Nomination: Bryant is an outstanding student in the classroom. He has a great attitude. He takes suggestions from others and works to push forward in new directions. He is also a caretaker in the art room. In addition, Bryant has worked to engage future Shamrocks when we host them in the art room.
Name: Ivan Guerrero
Year: Senior
Grade School: Elm Middle School
Reason for Nomination: Ivan is a senior captain of the soccer team. He is also on the volleyball team, an honor roll student and in the Letterman Club. Ivan is a leader among the senior class who has been asked to serve on a senior panel for shadows and served as a freshman mentor.

Grade School: St. Edward
Reason for Nomination: Antonio is an outstanding student in the classroom. He is an active listener. He engages students in a dialogue that moves classroom practices forward. He is always prepared and ready to learn. Additionally, Antonio has worked to engage future Shamrocks when we host them in the art room.
Name: Owen Lyons
Year: Senior
Grade School: St. Juliana
Reason for Nomination: Owen is an outstanding student in the classroom. He is a patient and compassionate classmate. His words are kind and thoughtful. He is a talented artist. He has a broken bone in his right hand and has switched to create art with his non-dominant hand and is still producing great art. Additionally, Owen has worked to engage future Shamrocks when we host them in the art room.
Name: Franklin Sinchi
Year: Senior
Grade School: St. Bartholomew
Reason for Nomination: Franklin works overtime on his schoolwork, his job outside of school, and the many responsibilities he has taken on within St. Pat’s. He has not only kept up to date on his assignments but turned in wonderful, truly thought out work that shows a desire to grow as a student and a person. When he is not working hard on his homework, he is focusing on helping others. He was a Kairos leader, started the My Extraordinary Mind Club, and participates in many other groups at school. He truly shows what it means to embrace brotherhood and selflessness at St. Pat’s.
Name: Isiah Smith
Year: Senior
Grade School: Sabin
Reason for Nomination: Isiah is a happy Shamrock, who is well-liked by his fellow students and teachers. He is on the bowling team, track & field and varsity football team. He was recently named Athlete of the Week and All-Conference for football. Isiah is also a member of the Racial Equality Committee.
Name: Patrick Wojtkowski
Year: Senior
Grade School: St. Cyprian
Reason for Nomination: Patrick earned the most class participation points in senior theology for quarter one.
