Dear Family,
In light of a confirmed case at Vaughn Occupational High School, the Archdiocese of Chicago has released further guidance to its schools in addressing concerns regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The letter is attached to this email.
At Saint Patrick, we are continuing to monitor the situation, and encouraging our faculty, staff, and students to take these precautions:
– Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If no soap and water are available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
– Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
– Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
In addition, we are providing Kleenex and hand sanitizer in all classrooms and our cleaning service will be performing a more rigorous sanitizing of hard surfaces, such as railings and doorknobs, daily until further notice.
In order to limit prevention of all communicable diseases, we need your cooperation. It is imperative that anyone showing any symptoms of illness stay home.
Just as others across the country are monitoring the situation, we will do so as well. If circumstances warrant us having to close school, we will be on our regular cyber day procedures. We will certainly notify everyone if the situation necessitates this.
Thank you in advance for your assistance and cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at jbaffico@stpatrick.org or at 773-282-8844, ext. 229.
Sincerely,
Jon Baffico
