Twenty-two Saint Patrick High School students have been selected as Illinois State Scholars.

The senior Shamrocks who earned the designation this year were: Daniel Baker, Jakub Bigos, Louis Cerone, Jesse Cobb, Nicholas Dattalo, Benjamin Dziechciowski, Tianyu Gai, Daniel Galante, Matthew Galvan, Erik Jachym, Colm Keane, Luke Labuz, Philip Lutkovsky, Anthony Mazzenga, John McHugh, William McNulty, Tyler Messner, Rory O’Connor, Mateo Olvera-Sandoval, Giovanni Priami, Zhengyi Sun and Luke Tomzik.

The 22 students selected marks the highest percentage of a senior class to earn the designation in Saint Patrick’s history.

The State Scholar Program publicly and personally identifies graduating high school seniors who possess superior academic potential. Students from nearly every high school in Illinois compete in the program. The Illinois State Scholar designation is awarded to high school seniors based on ACT or SAT test scores, class rank, class size and unweighted Grade Point Average.
