Former Head Coach to serve as Associate Director of Admissions/Assistant Athletic Director
(Chicago, IL, April 30, 2021) – Saint Patrick High School, Chicago’s oldest all-boys Catholic high school, announced today the hiring of former head football coach, Dan Galante, as Associate Director of Admissions/Assistant Athletic Director, effective July 1, 2021. In addition, Galante will serve as a coach under current head football coach Adam Guerra.
“Dan Galante brings over 20 years of experience in admissions and over 30 years as a football coach back to Saint Patrick, the place he considers home,” said incoming president Dan Santucci ’02. “His work ethic, passion and skillset are exactly what we need to continue the great tradition of our school.”
Galante, the longest-tenured head coach in the history of the Shamrock football program, stepped down after the 2016 season with 77 wins and eight playoff appearances in 16 years. He continued to work in Admissions and as a physical education teacher at Saint Patrick prior to accepting a position at DePaul College Prep in 2017. Galante has worked at the Vincentian Catholic high school in Chicago for the past four years as an Admissions counselor, assistant varsity coach and head freshmen football coach.
“I am excited to come back to Saint Patrick High School, a place I put my heart and soul into for 16 years,” Galante said. “I look forward to working with the faculty and staff, and Dan Santucci, who I coached in my first year as head coach, as we build on 160 years of tradition.”
Galante will work alongside Director of Admissions Michael Fabrizio ’08 and the rest of the Admissions team at Saint Patrick as Associate Director of Admissions and assist Athletic Director Matt Reardon in his role as Assistant Athletic Director.
