Mary O’Connor is a business owner, community activist, and public servant, serving the City of Chicago for most of her career. Mary is the owner of Unforgettable Edibles Catering, operating in the Edison Park community for 30 years. In addition, Mary is the Deputy Commissioner for the City of Chicago’s Department of Planning & Development overseeing the Small Business Advocacy Division. In this role, Mary works on various projects and initiatives that enhance the city’s small business communities.
Mary also served as Alderman of Chicago’s 41st Ward on the Northwest Side of Chicago from 2011-2015. As Alderman, Mary worked on numerous capital projects and initiatives that benefitted local schools and day-to-day city services.
In addition, Mary is the founder of the Edison Park Turkey Trot, which has raised over a million dollars to benefit different charities, and served as President of the Edison Park Chamber of Commerce from 2002-2008.
Mary is a alumna of Resurrection High School College Prep and Eastern Illinois University.
