Dear Family,
Last night, Wednesday, April 1, I was informed that a family member of a staff person at Saint Patrick High School tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). Although the staff person exposed to the virus through their family member has not been in contact with students since Thursday, March 12, we wanted to communicate with you as it is the first confirmed case in our community.
We understand your potential concern in regards to the identification of the staff person so that individuals can assess their possibility of exposure. However, federal privacy laws prevent us from sharing the name of the staff person or providing any information that would lead to identification of the family member.
The staff person was in the school building for a limited time on Thursday, March 26 and has been asked to reach out to anyone they were in contact with as a precaution. The family member began showing mild symptoms on Thursday. After their symptoms worsened over the weekend, they were tested on Monday, March 30 and told the results were positive yesterday. At this time, the family member is in quarantine and doing well. Please join us in praying for them as they recover at home.
As we continue to follow the Governor’s statewide stay-at-home order, please monitor yourself for any symptoms. If you are not feeling well, contact your healthcare provider. As a reminder, the school building and surrounding grounds remain closed and off limits until further notice.
