Why Donate Bitcoin to Saint Patrick High School?
With over 161 years of history, Saint Patrick High School is committed to continuing our legacy of success in forming our students into tomorrow’s leaders and lifelong learners. Rooted in the teachings of St. John Baptist de la Salle, we remain steadfast in educating the heart, mind and soul of each student. Additionally, our school community is committed to helping students and their families with the rising cost of tuition. Your donation will enable us to live out our very important and life-changing mission for current and future Shamrocks.

Save on your Taxes by Donating Crypto
Why Donate Crypto Directly? Taxes! There’s a reason high net worth individuals tend to donate property instead of cash. Donating cryptocurrency directly to a 501c3 nonprofit is more tax efficient and can save you money. The IRS classifies cryptocurrency as property for tax purposes which means it is typically the most tax efficient way to support your favorite cause. When donating crypto, you receive a tax deduction for the fair market value of the crypto, and you avoid the capital gains tax you would have incurred if you had sold the crypto and then made a donation. That means you’re able to donate more, as well as deduct more on your tax return. The difference? Sometimes more than 30%. If you provide an email, you will automatically receive a tax receipt after donating.

Our Mission Statement
Serving students from diverse backgrounds since 1861, Saint Patrick, the oldest all-male Catholic high school in Chicago, transforms boys into young men. Guided by innovative Lasallian principles, we prepare leaders inspired by faith, tradition and brotherhood.

DEFERRED GIFTS

  • Saint Patrick can arrange management of Charitable Gift Annuities, Deferred Gift Annuities, Charitable Remainder Annuity Trusts or Charitable Remainder Unitrusts, or Real Estate transfers. Naming Saint Patrick High School as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or including St. Pat’s in a bequest are also farsighted ways of donating to the solid future of the school.
  • With Charitable Gift Annuities, payments to donors begin as soon as the gift is made, and donors receive immediate tax deductions. (This plan is best for those who are 75 or older.)
  • With Deferred Gift Annuities, the donor has flexibility in determining the start date of payments. Charitable deductions are available immediately. (This plan is best for those who are 50-74.)
  • Through a Bequest, the donor names Saint Patrick High School as a remainder beneficiary of the estate. All deferred gift donors become members of the Anam Cara Heritage Society. This society recognizes those who have made provisions for Saint Patrick High School in a farsighted way and have committed to securing the future of the school.
  • Donating a paid up Life Insurance policy or paying the premium on a new policy that designates Saint Patrick as the owner or beneficiary is a commitment in faith and dedication to the mission of Saint Patrick High School.

An endowment is a way to provide support to the students of Saint Patrick High School in perpetuity or to support salaries, benefits and professional growth opportunities for faculty. With a gift or pledge of $100,000 a benefactor can establish an endowment of which only a portion of the interest is used each year. Endowments may be made in honor of – or in memory of – a loved one.
